The Living Canvas (2022)

Performance-social experiment for the Fluxus Festival in Kaunas, Lithuania.

The main subject, as the name suggests, was a 'living canvas' - a man dressed in white. He stood on a platform and waited for passers-by, who had to choose the color of paint that most closely reflected their current outlook on life and apply it with a brush to any man's body part.

Consciously created from the emotional chaos caused by the current world events, the performance connected numerous strangers. It was satisfying to see how brave people could be to shout in what color they see world at the moment. The fact that the performance was successful is also evident by the uncontrollable momentum it consequently gained - brave volunteers joined in for a few moments and became living canvases, too; people started splashing paint at each other; some even stopped following the rules and just painted random symbols on the main subject.

The performance was simple, might seemed even childish - paints, brushes, and a group of people. But if we look deeper, it's all about human connection - with the world, each other, and most importantly - with oneself.

Tik ėjimas (2021)

Short documentary video created in Joniškis, Lithuania

We live in a time when many of us feel a growing uncertainty about the world as it is today, and what the future may bring. Out of a desire to understand the essence of faith, the social project - perhaps even an experiment -Tik ėjimas (Just a Movement) was born.

This project confronted individuals of different ages, genders, and social backgrounds with the same single question, revealed to them only once the camera started rolling.

The result is a short documentary film, thoughtfully edited by my visionary collaborator Laurynas Jonušas. Everyday sounds and familiar sceneries have been intentionally left in the background, creating a sense of intimacy and grounding in the daily rhythm of life.
